Well its that time again folks. Back to school is in full swing here in New Jersey. Tuesday, September 6th is our first day. The day after labor day. Bitter sweet for most. With back to school means back to school fashion. I have three boys. Michael, who is 6 years old and starting first grade, Anthony, who is 3 years old and starting pre-school and Joseph who is 2 and will be starting tumble classes. We are all over the place to say the least. My three sons surely keep me on my toes. Now I come from a background in fashion. I have a degree in fashion merchandising and marketing, I used to work in NYC fashion district for years so having three boys may not be all pig tails and tutus for me but it surely will not fall short in being fashionable. I love dressing my boys up to the 9. Check out some of our back to school essentials we recently picked up to get us started.
Back to school essentials
These looks I picked up for my 2 pre-school aged boys. Back pack I ordered from Pottery Barn kids. I love that you can personalize it, anything with their names on it gets me all excited. You can opt. for their initials if you don’t want to have their name displayed on their backpack as well. I have this same shark print backpack for my older son Michael and the lunch box to match as well. My son Anthonys is new this year but Michael who is entering 1st grade is using the same Pottery Barn back pack that I go this last year. They really are made to last so its worth the money since you will get more then one school year usage out of it. They come in multiple sizes shown above is the pre-k size and my son Michael has the large size. Outfits from left to right: Carters 3 pc. layette is perfect for afternoons in the park and pre-school days this fall its cute and comfy for my little guys. In the center is a hooded top and jeans both from Old Navy toddler. I just love the rolled up sleeve for fall, don’t you? This collared button down pictured on the right is Genuine Kids from OshKosh paired with Cat & Jack straight leg stretch jeans from Target.
From left to right: The Childrens Place button down paired with The Childrens Place Skinny Fit khaki pants in color Sesame. This outfit I got for both my preschool age sons because I love to have them match. The plaid button down on the right is from baby Gap paired with baby gap draw string jeans. I love this one because this will really roll from fall into winter and its super trendy. I love the Navy and Hunter color combo, my boys are super hunky in it.
All 3 of my boys love track suits. We picked up this one at Target. Its by Cat & Jack shown above in red and we also have it in black. These are a go to for me and a really great price point.
My son Michael is going into 1st grade. He’s 6 years old and needed some transition outfits. These are great for the first few weeks of school. Here in New Jersey September is still nice and hot. On the left is a plaid and checkered button down from The Childrens Place. I love my boys in a cute collared button down rolled up. I paired it with the Polo Ralph Lauren khaki shorts from Macys. On the right; the blue Tommy Hilfiger cotton/poly two button t-shirt paired with red Levi’s adjustable waistband cargo shorts also from Macys.
Gap Kids Striped cotton long sleeve top is a good every day shirt shown here with Epic Threads jeans from Macys.
Michael plays both soccer and flag football in the fall. So as much as I love to dress him up he really needs transition outfits from school to practice. I love these mix & match Jumping Beans Play Cool Graphic tops and bottoms from Kohls. These are truly a staple for us all year long. The tops and bottoms wash well, and are cute and comfy for boys on the go.
Demin, Demin and more Demin! Top left: Epic Threads Slim Straight leg in dark wash. Purchased these from Macys. I just love a fitted jean with one holes in them. Top right: Baby Gap pull-on super soft demin. The slogan on the tag reads, ” the fabric you love, now softer than ever.” Boy is the slogan true. Love these jeans super soft I think my little guy Joey is going to love them! Bottom left: Old Navy Famous Jeans Straight leg fit in Droit. Bottom middle: Baby Gap toddler boys original jeans in dark. Last on the bottom right: I picked these up in Macys from Epic Threads Slim Straight leg in Medium Wash. I still have to get a pair of super skinny jeans for all three of my boys and then we are set.
My son Michaels school gets super hot in the winter so I know he won’t really wear this to school all day so I didn’t purchase the matching sweat pants. Instead, I chose this as a good transition jacket for him that I know he won’t give me a hard time wearing as the fall air gets crisp. Tommy Hilfiger from Macys. Shown in black, also available in Navy, Gray, and Olive.
